Can you imagine..... coming together with other mothers who love the Lord and want Him to use them to help other mothers who, like themselves, have lived through the devastation of their child's death? Imagine the light these mothers can bring into that dark place of loss that so many endure each day without the understanding of someone who has been in that chasm.

Coming together - mother to mother, heart to heart.
This coming together is to lift up, bringing a smile to a face that has endured far too many tears. This group provides a link to a future that cannot be imagined from the depths of despair. The sharing of faith as well as faltering, of bright memories and photos, aids in clearing away the debris of guilt or anger or depression to focus on the strength that coming together with an understanding friend can bring. This is Umbrella Ministries. The monthly meeting provides a view to a future, with strong hands helping to clear that path. We'd love for you to share in the positive, upward, onward, inward momentum that this ministry offers, mother to mother, heart to heart.

We offer support to bereaved mothers by:
1. Opportunities to talk about loss through care and share groups meeting in the warmth and comfort of loving homes.
2. Fellowship with other mother's who understand and share a similar loss leading to lasting friendships and support along your grief journey.
3. Experiencing comfort and help from The Word of God and sharing how our mourning can be turned to joy through our Healer Jesus Christ.

Umbrella Ministries was founded in 1996, with the sole purpose of helping mothers through their grief of losing a child. Since its beginning Umbrella Ministries has offered comfort, hope and encouragement to hundreds of mothers across the United States, including Alaska and Canada.
Grieving the death of a child can be a painful and lonely struggle. Working through such anguish requires tremendous effort, patience, faith and hope. Umbrella Ministries assists bereaved mothers through this difficult period with support, encouragement and love. If you have experienced the loss of a child, you need not grieve alone -- we understand and we’re here for you.

San Diego Umbrella Ministries has monthly meetings, an annual Mission Bay Walk, an annual Couples Event, Bible Studies and sends out compassion packets to mothers who have recently experienced the passing of a child. We are mothers who come together to encourage one another during our darkest valley.
